History
Southside Uniting Church is a congregation of the Uniting Church in Australia (UCA).
Southside Uniting Church was formed on the 1 January 2020 as a result of an amalgamation of four Uniting Church congregations, Holland Park Uniting Church, St Mark’s Mt Gravatt Uniting Church, Wellers Hill Tarragindi Uniting Church and Yeronga Uniting Church. The decision to amalgamate was made possible through a Presbytery initiated discernment process called “The Year of Discernment” and then later named “Destiny Together”.
The UCA was formed in 1977 by the coming together of the Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregational churches. The missional and ecumenical vision of the UCA is set out in the “Basis of Union” which can be found in our Documents tab.
